		<description>As an &quot;independent scholar who happens to teach&quot; at what used to be called a polytechnic your way, the lack of access, now that electronic journals have been co-opted by the likes of Routledge or Taylor &amp; Francis consortia, means that no longer can we enter a university or research library as the public to open up a journal from the stacks to read. The electronic shift often results in fewer rather than more scholarship open to those outside those currently teaching or matriculating at an institution.</description>
